1985 evinrude 60 hp The carbs have been giving me trouble.sometimes it idles bad and sometimes it don't.then it has a dead spot in the throttle.if I go real fast by the dead spot it's fine or so slow and I have to bump the choke. They are clean 100% I even removed the core plug. Both butterfly's are closed and even.im about to replace both of them. Any last minute advice on what it could be?

Did you also remove the jets in each carb for a visual inspection to see if they are clear/open? The idle jets are right at the front of the carb-easy access.

Many times " carburetor problems " turn out to be something else.

If it was something else why does hitting the choke correct it? If you are talking about the jets on the front that you can see with the front plastic cover off yes.

Ok what about this,my vro pump is gone.ive noticed that their are vacuum mines on the top of my carbs very small.they are hooked up to a vaccine line on the side of the power head.my question could those vacuum lines went to the oiler and not suppose to be on the vacuum side of the power head? I hope that's my problem.
