hello like to know if any one knows if this motor has a thermastat for the pee hole because i thought i read some where that a newer motor had one because water stops from pee hole and then starts again thanks

If your engine is equip with a thermostat it might be either a vented or unvented thermostat just pop the top off the housing and look. We have had to open several of the slots or holes they can be either way to get a steady telltell flow for customers.

My motor doesn't have a thermostat. It's a 1979. I'm really not sure if it did originally, but the thermostat housing is is near the left rear of the power head. Near the top. It is held closed by a large spring. Pop the spring off and lift off the top of the housing to reveal if there is a thermostat or not.

Now, all this got me thinking. How do I know if there should be a thermostat installed in my motor?
