i went in to garage to bump my key switch to make sure battery was up, it just clicked kept trying it it keep doing same thing. took hood off and watched it the starter wheel would barely turn not even a quarter of a turn. i put it on a good charge. went back done same thing i kept doing it and it finally bumped over done it several more time and it kept bumping wanting to start. get to the lake it starts clicking again keep doing it and it finally starts up. it starts rest of night fine. so is it starter problem or solonoid. battery terminals are tight and not corroted

Could be the brushes on the armature in the starter, or could be a bad starter solenoid. (contacts get burned inside the solenoid and it won't transfer current.) You could try to jump the starter direct from a known charged battery. If the starter works fine that way, replace the solenoid.
