Late 70's Livingston Outboard Advice needed

I have an older 70's 13ft Livingston Boat. I have two motors I can put on it. First one is a 90's 9.9hp Mariner Long shaft tiller 2 stroke. The second is a early 70's Johnson 20hp long shaft tiller 2 stroke. I will be using the boat mainly for fishing small lakes. I will be fishing Kokanee and Sockeye. Those need a Slow trolling speed. My question is, which motor would better serve me. Will the 20hp idle down slow enough to troll? Can the 9.9 push this boat fast enough to plane with me 190lbs, wife 140lbs, daughter 70lbs?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Ya make no mention of it, But,....

If that hull wants a short shaft motor, Neither of yer choices are right,....

For Kokanee and sockeye the 9.9 would be the best, but it won't move it very fast. The 20 probably wont troll slow enough without a drift sock or two.

Which shaft length does it require?

As others have mentioned I believe your Livingston requires a short shaft engine. Also, the maximum HP should be on the label inside the hull, or if it is missing you can get any info you need from the Livingston websight.
