Got a Late 80's 115hp bubbleback Rude that has developed allergies ie sneezing and not running well at WOT. When it first started I figured it was time to rebuild carbs so took care of that issue. Now you couldnt ask for a faster starting engine be it cold or hot. Will idle like a champ but now with a occasional sneeze stab the throttle and she jumps onto plane but rpms are unstable. They run up and then fall back off. Only thing I did notice was that the fuel line bulb was not staying hard as supposed to be. Checked my vents. Kinda puzzled here. I know mercs are known for sneezing but need stable rpms at WOT. Any ideas here would be greatly appreciated.

"Sneezing" is a indicative of a lean condition.

You have a fuel restriction-someplace.

Run it on a known good six gallon can/hose and see if it straightens out.

If you have a built in tank, there is an "anti siphon" check ball on the outlet of the tank. Those can cause problems. They can be removed for "testing".
