I have been shoting paint for a while and stumped with this simple question. I am painting a cowling and did alot of air brush work with some latex paint on it. Without a thought I was going to shot some clear on it and stoped wondering if that was a bad thing. I spoke with two paint dealers around and one said hell no and the other said it will work. So does anybody no if I can clear over latex paint or is all my airbrush work shot. I picked the latex paint up from a guy around that shots it onto canvas, artsy stuff, and loved its 3d value but if I cannot clear over it it's worthless.

Well, if it is worthless without clearcoat what have you got to lose?

Shoot it. If it doesn't work you are gonna have to remove it anyway.

Good luck. :)

There are a lot of water-based urethane-acrylics out on the market these days that will go very nicely over the latex.

well I used one and it turned out good. I was afraid it would run or pull on some hair lines in the air brush but thank goodness it did not thanks you guys kinda fell stupid after doing a little reading like on the container.
