Hi;
I have a 2001 Crestliner Superhawk 1600, I have a small leak. I believe it is around the livewell drain on the transom, because it turns easily. Is there a simple way to seal it? Also, there are notches on the inside of the rubber gasket on the drain, can this be removed to assist in sealing the leak??

I'd replace the entire fitting with a brand new one. I assume you have access to both sides of the fitting, right? Sounds like your gasket has hardened and is no longer sealing. Replacing the fitting is a cheap way to deal with the problem.

I can't get at the inside without doing a bit of a teardown, but the fitting does come apart somehow??

Some do, some don't. I thought you could see both sides of the thing. If it's a straight shot from the bottom of the live well, and the live well contacts the bottom of the hull, they may have used a flared tube like a transom drain. In that case, it can still be replaced. I think I'd let a boat repair place do that, though.

The livewell is at the front of the boat, I was just concerned that I might break a fitting inside the boat.....
