I'm having a major leak on one of my trim tabs. Leak are comming from the cylinder. I guess that I will have to get it out of the water to repair.

Since I dont want my boat out of the water for many days, can someone told me what is the brand and model of my trim tabs?

Do you suggest to replace cylinder or only gasket?

Here's my boat details:

Doral 250sc 1997, V8 5.7LX, Bravo2

Re: Leak on my trim tabs

Considering the marking on the switch, I'd say they are Boat Leveler Co. tabs. Which model, I dunno.

I think the company is known as Insta-trim now.

Thanks for your reply. You where right, i did some research on Insta-trim and it look like mine.

If this could help someone else, I've call Insta-Trim (1-800-386-7470) and they are sending me a Seal kit for 13$ (each side).

For everyone benefit, I've install the seal kit on both cylinder (RAM) and it did work.

installation was easy and take 20 minutes each side.

once install, press both trim down and up 5 time to get air out.

Re: Leak on my trim tabs

Larivies,

The trim tabs are manufactured by Insta-Trim. I changed out both my cylinders this spring. They were both leaking. Do a search on the internet for Install Trim cylinders and you'll find a lot of places where you can pick them up. I would change out the complete cylinder. This way you know you'll have years of trouble free fun. They come with new hose and pins when you purchase the cylinders. Good luck with the fix.

The OP fixed his problem almost a year ago, as he stated in post #3...
