Volvo Penta AQ125. I went to put Anti-freeze in engine because it was a little low. After I opened the cap while it was cold, I noticed anti-freeze in bilge. I traced it to the bottom of the circulation pump and was afraid I had an expensive repair on my hands because these sell new for about $700 plus. Took off the pulley and checked the water pump but saw no problem. There are however a small hole on the top and bottom of the pump that looked like they were suppose to be there. I couldn't find anything wrong, nor was it leaking anymore. Buttoned it all up, started it again and checked for a leak. None was found while running with a pressurized system at 180 degrees.

Since I saw this before I added anything and the engine was cold, anyone have any ideas about this?

Could be as simple as a defective heat exchanger cap. (Look like an automotive radiator cap)
If it's not sealing, it will dump your antifreeze into the bilge.
It could also be a leaking head gasket.
