I have a 1988 Tracker Magna 17 that has a leaking inlet hose to the livewell. It looks like it runs down the side of the boat under the floor but also under a short ledge that runs the length of the boat from console back. Without tearing up the floor, I just replaced floor and carpet last year, how do I change it.

Re: Leaking Livewell inlet line

do you have access to both ends of the line>? More thank likely it's just the fitting where it connects to the livewell which is just a matter to removing the fitting and re-installing with a sealant. Otherwise you can disconnect one end of the hose, tie and tape a tag line and pull; then use the tag line to pull the replacement line back through and re-connect everything; ; but this is just a guess.... Can you take some pics???

Re: Leaking Livewell inlet line

Took it out to the lake today. With further investigation, it is not the livewell lines. It leaks from somewhere along the right side and runs down the side into the bilge area. I think it is a rivit or seam. I really can't see it until I start the motor, then I see a steady stream running down. Would the vibration of the motor cause the leak to increase ? I did see one rivit that looks like it may be seperating from the hull. It holds that T shaped thing that runs the length of the boat on both sides to the hull. I may be able to access from inside. Any suggestions would help.

Re: Leaking Livewell inlet line

Being a novice boat owner and mechanic I learn new things every time I work on this boat. After gaining more access to the rear corner of my boat, I did find a livewell split. It was just sealed within the spray in foam. I also found a split in the line going from the motor to the water pressure guage on the dash. I am glad this won't be that difficult to repair.
