Ok...I know this is lengthly, but please read through all the background information as my questions are at the end.

I recently bought a 1979 20' Sea Ray with a 260 Mercruiser and an Alpha One outdrive. Motor is original but rebuilt 3 years ago. As for the outdrive, I'm not too sure when that was replaced. I bought the boat for a great price from a kind gentleman who gave it to me in turn for a donation to a favorite charity of his. In talking to him, I found out that he had the boat docked in the water and was fishing from it up until the end of May, and everything was running good.

Upon buying the boat, I changed the lower unit lube and engine oil, as well as performed some other routine work. This afternoon was the first time I actually got it in the water. The engine runs like a champ (cross my fingers), and when I changed the lower unit lube, everything down there was good.

My problem is I am leaking a water/oil mixture near where the hydraulic line for the power tilt goes out of the boat below the driveshaft on the back of the boat. Last night I topped off the power tilt resevoir with 5w-20 (there is a sticker on it that says to use 5w-20 or 5w-30) even though the Clymer's manual says to use
10W-30. I did not think the viscosity would make that big of a difference...does it? Anyway, this problem only seems to happen while the engine is running (I also believe only while it is in gear) and in the water. When the engine is running in the driveway, or the boat is just sitting in the water, no leaking of anything. My big question is, how do I replace that hydraulic line going into the lower unit??? Is there some kind of seal to replace too? Is there anything else in that are that could lead to a leak of oil/water mix??? When I go to replace the hydraulic line, is there anything else that should be replaced at the same time?

We were out on the lake for about an hour and took in only a few cupfulls of water/oil...if that. Either way, I want to get back out on the water soon as I am a poor college student trying to enjoy my summer vacation, so any help/advice is greatly appreciated!!!
