Just put the outboard back on the boat...went to trim it up and it started leaking from this hole with the circlip and flat head screw. Possible reasons, fixes?

there is an oring on that screw.
its the manual bypass valve.
corrosion got it.
use a die grinder to enlarge the hole a bit, remove the circlip.
with the engine supported so it cant move and in the full up position remove the valve.
make sure the oring surface is clean and not pitted.
install the valve with new orings.

Hi ,

i'v got a problem my trim is not working properly it hold the motor up and let it down but it wont till the motor... could it be the hydrolic oil? if yes, i cant find the reservoir for it.

I took the screw out, there was no oring on the outer portion closest to the c clip. Is it common for them to be missing when they fail? I had to special order one, ran for 24 dollars for a little oring at the dealer.

its not common for it to be missing at all.
sorry I forgot to warn its a rather pricey oring.
