Leaking trim/tilt pump F115TLRD

So, departing from my normal proclivity for paying a relatively small amount of cash for an older boat (or pop-up or RV), then spending a lot of time restoring and fixing them, I decided to get a newer boat (2005) and finance it, thinking that I would have more time on the water and less time working on the boat.

HAHAHAHA!!!

After resealing and pressure testing my lower unit recently--missing a beautiful weekend of fishing--I now have a leak in my trim/tilt unit.

This won't keep me from fishing because it's not leaking out very quickly, but it's something I need to take care of soon.

The aft side of the housing/cylinders are dry. Top of the cylinders are oil free. Forward side is oily. I removed the upper pin and tilted the unit aft and took some pictures. Obviously, there is a leak somewhere inside the pump or in between the pump and the housing.

Any pro mechanics want to chime in on experience on these Yamaha trim/tilt units? Is there a likely culprit or do I need to rebuild it completely? It's a 2005 F115TLRD, btw.

If I bring the unit to a shop, who many hours to rebuild the pump?

In the following picture, up is forward, and you're looking down on the pump to the left of the tilt cylinder. You can see the fluid between the pump and the trim cylinder.

Also, what can be damaged if the motor hits the stops, but the pump continues to run for an indeterminate amount of time? I have reason to believe that a faulty trim/tilt switch in the bow may have caused the motor to tilt down and run for God knows how long. The switch was disconnected when I bought the boat, but I disassembled, cleaned, and reconnected the switch when I was adding my on-board chargers. I recall walking outside one morning soon after that repair, realizing that the motor was all the way down, and swearing that I left it up the night before. I wondered to myself if a cat or possum sat down on the switch and ran the motor until it blew out something.

Is that possible?

The motor didn't leak down overnight, btw. I tried to duplicate the occurrence by leaving the motor up without the safety bracket flipped down. It stayed up for several days without moving.
