Leaking valve?

I've determined that 1 cylinder has no conpresion.
I checked this due to water in my oil. Now my head is pulled off and the valve that releases exhaust into the manifold is broke. Is this the reason that water is in the oil or is this a secondary phoblem. I guess my question is: could water be getting sucked into the cylinder from the Risers because of the broken valve?

Re: Leaking valve?

Dont know for sure but it does seem logical that as the exhaust is wet. if the valve is open as the piston starts down it would create suction that could draw water into the cylinder. My Volvo engine has anti siphon values in the risers to stop water being sucked into the engine because the exhaust valve is open briefly as the piston starts its downward stroke.

No doubt an expert will answer soon but thats my two penneys worth.

most likley the the head gasket is bad if your getting water in the oil. check to see if the head is craked take it to a machine shop just to be sure,
.
