leaking water tube

i have a 1987 sunbird with a 165hp, mercrusier engine the ford type. thanks for the help with the starter by the way. the problem i'm having is when i hook up the water to the lower unit and turn it on i have water running out of the tube on the left side at the back. it is not antifreeze and it only does it when water is turned on and running through the whole motor, is this somthing like a rubber seal back there it feels like it is please heeeeelp fishing season is upon us and i need to goooooooo. the crokers are calling my name 4hrs away in va.

Kenneth - I saw your post a couple days ago and waited for someone to respond because I'm a bit confused by your question. Could you explain a little bit more about where the water is leaking from?

Kenneth,<br /><br /> Are we talking about a 3.7L mercury motor w/ a ford cylinder head?? Sounds like you froze the heat exchanger or left the plug out. I have been succesfull at soldering them back together.

thats it the heat exchanger is leaking on the end cap at the back thanks for the exploded view next time i get out now i know i can take it apart without breaking somthing else. this is a long way from the round track cars i work on. thanks again :D
