when i shut the motor off and tilt it up and put it on the transom saver the carbs start to leak a little gas out onto the gaurd in front of them. The guy at the repair shop said it was because of the floats changing positions. Is it normal for the carbs to leak any fuel at all when the motor is tilted. By the way its a 1985 force 125 horse. I just dont think its very safe for that fuel to de there so close to the sylenoid and a whole host of other electronic things.

Re: leaks fuel

A little gas leaking out the carbs is normal for most engines Ranger. Whether it comes from the high speed tube or draining back from the reed cage area. Most engines have carb covers equipped with a drain hose at the bottom which allows the excess gas to be sucked back into the engine and burned. As long as it ain't a bunch, just wipe it out if it causes you concern after every trip to the water.
