Leaky boat trim tab hose

Hey guys,

How would you fix a leaking boat trim tab hose at the cylinder? It looks like the plastic hose retainer backed off and the hose pushed itself back a bit. I've fixed them before by cutting off the plastic retainer and simply using a stainless steel hose clamp. That seems to work. Any suggestions here?

edit: was thinking of just hammering that plastic retainer back in place, but I have a feeling it'll slip off again.
