:facepalm:I have a leaky livewell fill and drain hose in the front my Lund Mr. Pike. I realize I have to take the floor out in order to reach the hoses and probably be an octopuse to reach things. Has anybody done this before?

Re: leaky live well hoses

I haven't worked on a Lund, but.

There was an old thread where someone had to do some work on the livewell of their Lund (think they had to remove it for other repairs) so you could use the search function and dig it up.

From what I remember of that thread, it wasn't an easy job since the LW was foamed into the hull, hoses and fittings were buried in foam.

I'd pull off the deck covering the LW and see what you have to work with. The drain will be the biggest pain since it's at the bottom of the tank. Fill and overflow shouldn't be too bad as they are on the side.

When I rebuilt my boat hooking up the hoses was my least favorite part, it is just a pain no way around it and you see how flexible you really are.

Just use good hose as replacemnet so you don't have to do it again, stay away from the corregated stuff, it never lasts long.

Re: leaky live well hoses

When I bought my 89 Grumman SS the livewell hoses were rubber, they had leaked and I suppose it was why the sold the boat.
I was going to run PVC but figured it could freeze and crack if it ever happened not to drain out completely. I ran clear vinyl tubing, I used an old fishing rod with the guides removed to fish it under the deck and back to the through hull fitting at the stern. I then opened up the floor a bit so I could use a normal fitting on the bottom of the livewell box. I attached the hose with two clamps and some 5200 sealer around all fittings and slid the box back in place and went back to hook up the hose in the bilge area. I also replaced the through hull fitting with one that I can plug to keep the box dry if needed, and also put valves on both hoses.
Mine had a fill hose that ran from the livewell to the stern, and a pump out that ran out the side of the hull with a valve to either empty or aerate the livewell.
All I ever do is open the fill valve underway and it siphons out the water in a big hurry on it's own.
