Leaky power steering ram. Replace or rebuild?

Volvo Penta 4.3L and the power steering ram has been leaking. I have shopped for replacements, but they go around $700. I keep coming across a rebuild kit.
Is the rebuild worth the hassle, or would I be better off in the long run by buying a new ram?

Not a question of price, but a question of "Does the rebuild kit WORK?"

I have absolutely no problem with the price, or the amount of time. But I do not want to spend both to find that the rebuild kits don't work, or only work for half a season.

A rebuild kit is nothing more than seals / orings. Yes, that is usually what fails, is a seal or o-ring
