Hello, everyone. I have posted on this forum before regarding having been sold a Tracker Targa deep V 18 WT, which was taking on water. Subsequently with your help we were able to discover three cracks in the left side of the hull, mid-way down the left side of the boat and below the water line.

I contacted the man who sold my husband this boat, and he came and looked at it and stated that he would fix the cracks. We are new and inexperienced boaters.

The man spoke to my husband and stated that welding the boat would not be easy at all as it would involve tearing the whole boat apart in order to get to the foam on the inside of the hull.

He is talking about trying either Glove-it or Marine-Tex epoxy putty first to see whether this will solve the problem. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with these products? Any feedback that you could give us would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. ~Rossma

Yes, Gluvit is an excellent product for sealing seams, cracks and gouges in aluminum boats. It is NOT UV tolerant so you WILL have to paint the Hull if you use this or any other Epxy based product for the repair.

Pictures of the damage could greatly aid us in helping you with this decision.

I'm just sayin...:D
