We are soon leaving FL for the summer and wondering what to do with the elec. boat lift. I will raise it all the way up... should I tie it off? Just leave it? What do others do?

Just leave it down, that way I can bring my boat over and pull it out of the water. Leave specific instructions on how to use the hot tub, and please stock the fridge, my friends are thirsty!!!

Just kidding!!! I don't think it's necessary to tie it off, how much swing does it have when it's all the way up?

I guess I should mention that I turn off the electric!!!!!
Refrig has beer but it's off too!!!!! No hot tub, sorry. Isn't the gulf warm enough?

Not a lot of swing to it, but I worry about the surge. And the neighbors?

Oh yea, neighbors, might not be a bad idea to put a locking cable around it just for security, lots of people leave theirs dangling though.

For hurricanes I wind it up high and tight. Then tie off with rope so it doesn't swing around. It's been though several cat 2 hurricanes without a problem.

Wouldn't worry to much about the swing, but heck, can't hurt to tie it off either
