I am thinking about installing waterproof led lighting in my compartments of my 1800 Adventure. I am thinking the best access to the entire project would be to run the 12V lines next to the fuel tank, but I feel this would be one heck of a fire hazard. I have seen 12V wiring burn before ! Has anyone done this already? Suggestions? thank you.. Billfo

I'm wondering where your wiring project would start. Wouldn't it be at a fuse junction under the dash? Then you could run the it under the starboard gunwale for a light, up to the bow for a light, and under the port gunwale back towards the stern for another. I just put our boat in storage 2 days ago, so I can't tell you exactly how the wiring for our LEDs was done by the factory. -Ken

Looking closer & as you say I found the right side wide open. It all looks easier than I thought. The only holes I will need to drill will be in the back two sorage/livewell/cooler insert compartments. and a few for the front livewell & storage. I will just need to figure wire size & fuse size & get a matching accessory switch for the dash. I installed a garage heater last winter, so I will wait until there is absolutely nothing else going on & have some fun :) I will post pics or a video when I am done ;)

Well how did you make out? Thinking about doing something similar in my boat.

I actually never finished this project.. yet ! I have all the lights, but that is as far as I got- have not decided on "how" to attach the actual lights. They are leds encased in a flexable rubbber..,instead, I replaced my impeller & thermostats (high temp alarm)-problem solved... Adjusted the trim indicator-problem solved, added a 2nd locator (on trolling motor), replaced prop & gained the needed (desired) 300 rmps :)
BUT did not get to the lights yet.

I will probably get to my livewell/cooler conversion project AND my rail extension project for the oem bimini top- before the lights..
