I've had an offer of a 1996 Leisurecat 26 and I have some questions.
The boat is being offered for free (it's family) but it needs some transom repair.
I am still in the process of getting estimates of the repair cost, but I was wondering if this is an unusual problem with these boats.
It has some cracking at the corners of the splash well, and the motor mount area had previously been reinforced with a metal support.
I was not able to really check to see of the transom is rotted, but I was wondering if this is a design issue.
The boat has a 225 Mariner Offshore outboard.
Also does anyone know what a trailer would cost for this boat?
It's currently on a lift in Florida, but I will need a trailer as I will be taking her up to the Delaware Bay.
I wanted a Deckboat or Center Console, and 26 ft is at the upper range of what I wanted, but unless the transom repair and trailer purchase is too expensive, the wife and really like the boat.
Thoughts/comments?
