Lenco actuator dilemma

Ok, bought supposedly a new unused kit off CL. Hooked up actuators to switch box and switch and to battery following instructions. I want them to work b4 I drill holes in the hull. Bam, hear clicking in the box but nothing happening with the electric actuators. Kinda upset, want to figure these out b4 I ask for a refund and mail these back to the guy I bought them from. I live in rural Alaska, everything goes mail or freight and takes a lot of time. Was hoping to have these installed and keep from porpoising with a little more speed on my sons boat. 20' boat with an F115 Yamaha.

Are you sure you have adequate voltage (under the load of the system)? Low voltage could cause the relays in the box not to work properly. Also you can put 12 volts on the two wires to the actuators to test them individually. Swapping the positive and negative changes the direction they will run.

Have a fully charged battery, even tried direct lining on of them like you said, nothing. Even started up the motor, no go. Only the clicking on the box. Can they be taken apart and make sure wiring is connected and not corroded out?

The Lenco system cannot really be taken apart. If you put 12 volts on the wires running directly to the actuators and they did not run they are defective. If there are are connectors on the wires leading to the actuators inspect them carefully for corrosion.

Contacted seller, willing to give a refund... Haven't actually talked with Lenco yet, phone tag is fun... Easy to disassemble, undo the nuts and pull apart design. Motors are rusted out! Buck! Will see what lenco will do before I get my refund, sure would have liked these to plane quicker and get more speed outa this boat besides putting on my F150...
