I live on the bay in NJ. Several years ago I had an old runabout as well as my speedboat. My runabout had a nasty habit of developing a no spark condition after I was out running around the bay for about 10 minutes. Now I have had this problem for a couple of weeks, and have made some ineffective repairs and all my neighbors have taken a turn towing me home(nice people to be sure). I still have the motor problem, so I say to the wife, "I need to test the runabout. If I breakdown, It's your turn to tow me home with the speedboat". She agrees and I set off with her right behind. Of course she gets bored following me and goes zooming off in the speedboat, and I break down shortly after. Well I wave and yell to her, but she it too far away and going too fast to notice. I end up sitting on the bow with a paddle, trying to head in her general direction. Suddenly in the distance, she seems to stop abruptly, and then motors toward home at a reduced speed. She has seized the motor of the speedboat!

I was lucky enough to get towed home by the "Underwater Search and Rescue" guys. So now I have a boat with no spark and a boat with a seized engine. Time to pull both boats out for repair. A neighbor tows me(twice) to the ramp with his waverunner. When I pass the guys crabbing for the second time, they yell "Didn't you just get towed in another boat?" A bad day!

Boy, that is bad luck eh? Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
But with the knowledge here, you can get the both running in no time, and at a fraction of the price the shops would charge you.
