lift bracket

I have 1992 mercury 115 motor#od143429 need to remove the motor to replace steering cable but cannot find lift bracket. what should I do. thanks

Ringo, I fasten a short length of plumbers strap to two of the flywheel bolts, and attach a block and tackle to lift the motor.<br /><br />Another idea is to tilt the motor up all the way so it is balanced, and push it all the way to the port side. This may give you enough clearance to install the new steering cable.
