I have a 24 ft toon and am about to buy a used lift. The lift has a rating of 3600 lbs and is set up for a v hull boat. Is this lift sturdy enough and what do I need to do to convert it for a toon. The lift just has the 2 crossmember, will that put too much stress on the middle of the tubes

You will need to contruct two bunks on the crossmembers. And half-way between the crossmembers, connect the boards of the bunks together so they can't separate.

Remember the tubes are hollow except for where there are bulk heads in the center and on either end of the tubes, be sure you support enough of the tubes so you don't crush them in.

Thanks for the info. The ad for the lift did not say how long the lift was. What do you think the length should be for the 24 ft toon

Re: lift conversion

My guess would be that any length from about 8' to 16' for the lift should work. The bunks of course should be near the length of the bottom of the pontoons.
