93 merc 4.3, Gen II, I think. The short line on one of my lift cylinder leaks a little at the crimp ( 3-4 drops ) when I raise it up. Am I correct in thinking that if I run with the trim all the way down it would not be leaking? (Less load on line) By delaying this repair a few weeks it won't damage anything correct? Providing it doesn't just blow out.

Re: Lift cylinder line question.

you should replace the line to ensure there is no water contamination in the oil (this can ruin the pump)

once an issue is found it should be immediately repaired, it will only get worse and cause more problems - even if it is only for a short while

the line will leak going up or down, maybe not as noticable going down due to less load but the fluid moves through both lines when travelling either way - the flow is merely reversed

Ok; that's kind of what I was afraid of. Thanks
