lifting the sterndrive for trailering ? trailer switch ?

I have a problem with lifting the sterndrive for trailering ......- there are two switches on the throttle . trim and tilt. ( I have just bought the boat so it is new to me) trim works fine - up and down . but the tilt switch does nothing and the sterndrive clearly has plenty of travel left in the rams to get it higher . is this an issue with the sensors on the sterndrive base plate? or is there a trailer switch which I havnt found ?its a Mariah Talari 23 with the v8 5.0GL volvo. help appreciated

Which one of these 5.0GL's do you have, and which drive.
Can you post a picture of your control with the trim buttons?
