anchor I have is a #13 super hooker with 6' ft chain but would like to get something easier to use for light duty days - hopefully without the chain too. Just something to throw in while moving around a cove or any calm water. Any recommendations?

Typical NE lake/resv bottom, some rock, some stumps, some gravel.

Re: light duty anchor

That 7# anchor is probably a good choice. You can skip the chain for "lunch hook" use. I use a 2.5# fluke anchor on my 16' speedboat. it holds very well.
