Hi all,

Does anyone make a "performance" manifolds and risers for the 5.0 GXI? really I am looking to get some of the weight out of the back of the boat, so "lightweight" manifold and risers may be a better description. I see places like Eddie Marine and all make aluminum SBC manifolds and risers and other companies make SS ones - all advertise "mercury", but what is involved with plumbing them to a VP? The boat is a 2005 and has 50 hours in saltwater from the previous owner, I think the existing parts are factory original, so since I am going to take them off and inspect them this winter, I figured I would ask what options for upgrades are out there...
Thanks
Scott

you can get manifolds from EMI, Kodiak, Stainless Marine, Imco and others. you can get stainless headers from CMI or HiTek.

however on a 5.0, you wont gain any performance.

to plumb to your VP, you simply need to measure....measure, and possibly spring for a custom set of elbows......did I mention Measure.

BTW, the VP manifolds already flow better than the factory Mercruiser manifolds, and the cost to "side-grade" to aluminum is about $500 to save 40# (or the weight of a case of beer)
