I do a lot of night fishing and recently got a pontoon. I mounted some all around white nav. lights to use as gen lighting to help see rod tips ect.I used the toon for first time last weekend and found that these lights will not light up much at all. Supposed to be 1 mile lights but barely lit rod tips from 8'. what do other people who fish at night use? In the past I used lanterns on my small boat but wanted to go different on toon. I like the adjustable/pivot type but not sure what type to get now. What type would you guys recommend? I am going again tonight and guess I will take lanterns but really want to change.
Thanks
Michael

I have used 24 volt aircraft landing lights. Do not hook them up to your cranking battery or you might find yourself swimming home.

I mounted a pair of docking lights from Boater's World on our T-Top. I think they were $29.95, maybe $39.95 but no more than that. They almost put out too much light so I tilt them up into the sky a little and they work fine. Only problem I have is that they draw quite a bit of juice and I have to keep a close eye on the battery.

They sell a real cheap flourescent lantern. I use this when night fishing and only 1 works fine for me. You may want two if you have bad eyesight. They are cheap so don't bang them around much.
