I'm wondering what is the lightest 25 hp outboard with 15" drive shaft?

I have a '99 Mercury Watermouse 10.5 feet with a 15 hp 2 stroke Mercury but would like to go up to a 25 hp and was wondering what make and model would be the lightest?

I know that some of the '90s 25 hp Mercury short shaft 2 stroke outboards weigh around 112 - 115 lbs and the motor I have now is like 75 - 80 lbs. Just didn't know if there was a lighter option.

Wow, that's a lot lighter then I expected.

What are the chances I could find one?

I'm trying to get max speed out of my little boat, would you be able to get a good modern high performance prop for one of those old motors?

If a motor that old would be hard to find or expensive are there any newer motors anyone could recommend that weigh right around 100 lbs?

I don't know your boat's rating but 25hp on 10.5' boat seems excessive. Check your plate and don't go over.
