link and sync

Trying to find the proper procedure for a link and sync for a 1986 johnson 50 hp, j50belcde. The seloc manual isn't helping very much and I have been unable to locate an oem service manual. I have tried outboardbooks.com /and they dont seem to have 1 for my motor. Anywhere else that i can get 1

Which of those should I buy? The service manual or the service manual set? I am on a pretty tight budget and definately cant afford $338 for all of them.

Ebay is a great place to find factory service manuals at a discount. I picked up two sets for less than $50.00
