Link n Sync how to?

Just got my new timer base in the mail today. Its goin on a 93 johnson 50hp motor number VJ50TLETB. In the box there was a little slip that warned a link n sync must be performed prior to firing up the motor after the installation of the new TB. Now i thought a link n sync was just a matter of making sure the carbs opened up in tandem, syncronizing the linkages. What is there to a link n sync exactly? Id hate to get everything back in order just to burn out a cylinder.

you need an OEM manual, it is a step by step process, to set the timing, and carbs together. if you miss a step, you go back to start, and begin again.

Just so you know, that process is many pages long so please don't ask anyone to post the process here. It's far too lengthy. You need a service manual specific to your engine -- almost the same is not good enough.

What's more, it's different for each model, year, etc.

Factory OEM manual - you'll be glad you bought it.

All you need to do is look at all the adjustable linkages and adjustment screws and it should be apparent this is a complex process. If it weren't critical, those adjustments wouldn't be there.
