i am having a ***** of a time getting the cam follower and cam to line up correctly. call me ignorant, but it seems like the instructions in the manual leave quite a bit out. maybe i am overthinking this.
anyhow, the idle speed screw is out of whack, the throttle cam is out of whack, and the stator arm is out of whack. i think the timing advance is out of whack.
where do you start with a baseline of where the stator arm should be. do i need to try to set the timing first, and then try to do the link and sync, or do the l&s and then try to get baseline timing?
i hope i have made sense to you all with this question. im just getting frustrated with the procedure.
i just rebuilt the carbs and have tried to get this thing to end the hard start issue.
it will start easily on muffs, but starts hard as hell in the water.
could backpressure and timing advance be connected to hard starting?
as always, thanks for any and all help.
