I've been searching for days and can't seem to find my self to a good rundown on setting timing without a test tank. I also don't feel safe doing it on trailer with boat in water. I've seen references to threads about doing it with the starter and all plugs pulled but can't get all the info I need. also I've seen mention that with today's fuels I should take 2 degrees off of the original spec. I have the seloc manual which is almost useless but it does give me the specs at least. motor is an 86 50hp. 3 cyl. the main thing I'm having trouble with is setting it while cranking I found one thread that said add 4 degrees and another that said take away 4 degrees. someone get me straightened out please.
