Got my hands on an old Ranger 1776 super A this past fall, and have gone from a "it's fine the way it is" to a gas tank refurb, a new rear casting deck, a full rewire, new carpet throughout, and now, after taking out the old carpet, find the deck underneath in bad shape.
Here are some pics....
Question is... with the floor having some soft spots, I was thinking of just sealing up the old floor as it is (epoxy resin), and then sealing up some 1/4" ply and bonding it to the (epoxy wet) old soft floor. I don't really have the desire or time to pop the cap and remove/replace the old deck.
Basically I'm looking for alternative ideas on how to shore up the deck...
From the CL ad:
an original wiring pic:
Tank/Battery compartment emptied out:
rear casting deck pic:
Gas tanks primed after POR-15 sealing of the inside:
Pic of floor as it is attached now.... what to do...what to do.
Hopefully I can get some feedback and ideas going forward...
