I'm familiar with the Liquid Electrical Tape that you paint on electrical connections but never heard of Liquid Duct Tape, but it may be the next big thing. There will be a can of it in every tool box!

I saw a display at my local auto parts. It dries silver like duct tape and is kinda like the spry on bed liner, but smooth and flexible. With great adhesion.

The brush on stuff in a can works, but has a short shelf life after opening. For funky electrical connections the self fusing tape works very well and you can actually trust it to isolate the connection. The liquid stuff is kind of gimmicky and not very reliable. Why stand around and recoat to build up thickness when you can just wrap it and be done with it? The brush on can stuff does work well to repair tool handle covers when fresh though.
