I have used silicone spray to lubricate the bunks on my boat trailers. While browsing the shelves in the boating section of a variety store near Kentucky Lake, I ran across "Liquid Rollers" by Marykate, a CRC brand. My Four Winns trailer was due for bunk lubricant so I decided to give it a try. WOW is all I can say. The stuff really did make it a cinch to winch that heavy beast.

Amazon and BassPro seem to stock it. Does look a bit pricey.

It did seem to work better. I'm on the river all the time. I have a slip at Tartan's.

Re: Liquid Rollers Bunk Lubricant

Check out this two year old thread on Liquid Rollers .

Not to be a tree hugger, but not sure what to think about too much of this kind of stuff getting into out water supply. On the spec sheet for the product (in the link in the old thread) it clearly says: "Environmental Precautions: Take precautions to prevent contamination of ground and surface waters. Do not flush into sewers or storm drains."

The "Do Not Flush...." statement applies to the Product still in the liquid state.
Do not puncture the can and then pour it down the drain.
After you spray it on, the propellants and solvents evaporate and end up in the Air.

What remains is the Silicon (Dimethylpolysiloxane) also known as Dimethicone. Is it Bio-Inert.

Dimethicone/Dimethylpolysiloxane is in your Mc Nuggets and French Fries, A Major component of Anti-Acids, and it is what makes your Sun Screen Lotion waterproof and Hair Conditioner Effective. You are already covered in the stuff, Inside and Out!

I've used both liquid rollers and silicone spray, and have not noticed any difference at all between them. Both seem to last equally long.

Spray Pledge! Cheap enough so it can be re-sprayed multiple times a season.
