Going on a long trip and decided to give the trailer the once over and get a slow leak fix. I pulled the tire off the trailer and noticed that the wheel bearing grease that I had packed the bearing with last year is turning to a liquid and leaking out.
( Red Ram )

Sorry folks  but I made the mistake of cleaning the wheel before I took a picture to show how much has dripped out. But I did get one of where it is leaking from.

As easy as this job is to do I hate packing bearings even with gloves.

Re: Liquid wheel grease

Just sitting a long time? It gets hot enough in my garage to melt the grease in my grease guns. Probably not a problem, I'd wipe it and drive it.

Re: Liquid wheel grease

I did pull the outer cap off and it had liquid Red Ram grease too but not a lot of liquid.
Checked the other side same thing but with no seapage.

My garage does get warm in the summer but I would have bet big bucks not enough to melt grease ( up until now I have always been realy happy with this product ). Maybe its too old.

I think I am going to tear both sides down and repack the bearings. I hate the idea of driving down the road and wondering if I am going to have problems.
