little piece stuck inside

i have a 1989 mercury 100 hp motor and a little plastic washer got stuck inside the lower unit and suggestion on getting it out? and would it damage anything inside if ran? currently lower unit drained of oil and piece didnt come out

man - that sucks - im trying to figure out how it got in there in the first place ? your positive it went in there was it in pieces ?

Where did the plastic washer come from? Lower unit fill or vent hole? Those are usually fiber washers. This is what I would do. You can fill the lower unit with mineral spirits. just like you would do, to fill the lower unit with lube. install drain plug . turn the motor over by hand in gear quite few times. Drain lower and see if it comes out.
If it was a fiber washer I would not be too concerned. but i would still do the same procedure. Hey but that's just me. Don't take my word on that procedure
