I have a 1989 evinrude 50. It has been running poor. I found that the top cylinder was firing was interment at best. I replaced the coil and the problem persisted. So I did a spark test 7/16 of an inch and I found I had a real weak yellow spark that really couldn't jump the gap.
. I also found that the flywheel has scratches on it and the power pack was scratches on it and it looked damaged. My first question is what could have caused this and the other is could the power pack alone cause the weak spark and the misfiring or could it be the stator.
