Hi all, Can anyone explain how to operate the live well on a pro v 1700?? It has a plate on the console with a switch marked man/off/auto and a red lite with a dial. Also there is another switch on the side board that reads nav/pump/areator/lights/assesories. I am in the process of rebuilding this boat I'll show pictures as soon as i learn to download them to this site.

I'm thinking the "aerate" switch is is for the live well pump. I cannot think of anything else that needs to be aerated.

Re: live well timer

If it is anything like mine, the live well uses a pump that draws water from the stern and pumps it to the live well. The live well should have a vertical tube that empties directly down through the hull. As water is pumped in, the well fills to the tube height and empties down through the hull. Basically my live well only circulates water into and out of the boat.

To operate, flip the pump switch and make sure the tube is in place.

Again, yours may be different.

Re: live well timer

I believe when you push the switch to the man (manual) position the livewell pump should turn on and run indefinately in this position. Off means "OFF" When you move the switch to auto (automatic) it will turn on and run for a preset time. Probably about 60 seconds time then shut off on it's own (This is a cycle). By turning the dial knob you can increase or decrease the amount of times it cycles in an hour. The red light usually comes on when the pump is running. The more fish or warmer the water, you want it to cycle more. Less fish or cooler water means you don't need it to run or cycle as often. Hope this helpes........Steve
