My live well is poorly designed. The feed for the livewell is located near the bottom of the well. It works great as long as the pump is on -- however -- once the pump is shut off, the location of the feed creates a suction and empties the well -- dumping the water back through the bulge type pump. Is there a way to keep the positive pressure when the pump is not running? I don't want to keep the pump running all day to keep a few minnows alive.

2002 proline 22 DC

Add a check valve or move the feed up higher. Usually the feed squirts out high to help aerate the water.

I agree with Ed. Yes you can install a check valve. You can run the line up high like your dishwashed and install a vaccum break. I also like the fill line to be above the high water level in the tank and squrit the water into the tank to add air and make water circulate. Also add a adjustable timer to your fill motor. With the timer can set motor to run or fill but can also set it to run one minute every 5, 10, or 15 to put in some fresh cool water and air to keet bait or your catch alive.

Before you make any changes make sure it not draining out the drain line because the plug does not seal correctly.
