How can I put a live well under on of my bench seats? I've got a 21 ft party barge and was thinking of putting one in under one of the seats and using a bilge pump to fill it mounted to the back of one of my toon. anyone ever done this? What did you use to make it with and a pic would be great of the finished project.

Re: Live Well

Live Wells need a tank. Find one that fits in the space you have. Any plastic container -- even a bucket can be used. Cut it down to whatever height you need. Cut a hole in the bottom for a through hull fitting and one through the side for an overflow. The overflow can be eliminated if you use a standpipe in the drain. If you don't know what a standpipe is, raise the lid on your toilet tank at home. That pipe in the middle of the tank is a standpipe. If the water gets too high it runs over the top and down the drain. A bilge pump can be mounted on the bracket at the back of of one the tubes. If you don't have such a bracket, any welder in town can weld one on for you. The pump feeds water to a spray nozzle or bar in the livewell. A simle on/off or a manual/auto timer switch can be used to operate the pump. Everything you need is available right here on iBoats.

Re: Live Well

I made one for mine but made it a free standing one in front of the helm I didn't want to lose storage space. the pictures and in the rebuild thread in my signature.

I use to do a lot of fishing there at East Lynn. but I have moved to beach fork because I can slip my boat there.

My boat came with TWO livewells! I removed one for more storage space.
