Would it be possible to take a storage container and put it under a pontoon seat and plumb it up and use it as a live well? I am concerned abotu it not being strong enough. What else could I use?

Re: live well

Get a "Roughneck" tub (by Rubbermaid) and fill it with water. Kick it. Bang on it.

I think you'll find out that it's plenty strong.

I had two livewells on my boat, and removed the one under the seat. That storage space is just too valuable!

Re: live well

I have my livewell out to repair a crack. it's probably half as thick as a rubbermaid tub. But it is stiffer. Rubbermaid tubs flex so you might want to fit some rigid foam around it to stiffen the sides.

Yes of course you can and a lot do just that. I made mine as a free standing on and put it in front of the console. You can make a enclosure to fit around the tub and the plumping and fix the seating on top, I have done that on several boats.

and what part of WV, in close to Huntington btw.

I see a lot of plastic truck tool boxes used for big cats. Sturdy, easy to plumb, and built in lids that latch.

I would just make sure what ever you use, you need some sort of lid to keep the water from sloshing around during weather, waves, or when your under way. As we all know water is our friend however, not when it is all over your deck, or under a seat

Re: live well

I have a small 15 gallon on mine mostly for shad and so on. Made it free standing with a fill pump and a aerator on a timer.

Re: live well

A round container works best for some bait because they don't swim into the ends. A round container will keep your bait alive a lot longer.
