Livewell Help for Bass Tracker

Ok,I have done so many things to my 1995 Bass Tracker Pro Deep V-17.It is like a new boat now.And I love it.Last thing,lol,maybe until the next one.My live well will not fill all the way up.I fill it,the water starts coming in,the pump is on.It goes maybe 1/2 way full.I turn the dial to recirculate,then next time that I look,it is empty.I am in an aluminum boat only bass tournament once a month.The last one,I took a wine bottle cork with me and put it in the drain.It filled all the way up.But when I put the dial to recirculate,Water just kept coming in.It is cold enough right now to keep the fish alive,anybody have any ideas.Thanks in advance,Bruce

you apparently have a bad (leaking recirculate valve). In the fill mode the valve shuts off the drain line to the back of the boat. In the recirculate mode that line should remain shut off but water is taken from the drain in the bottom of the tank and simply dumped back into livewell (hence the term recirculate). If the valve is leaking internally, water being recirculated is also being dumped out the drain. There is a simple solution to these recirculate systems that become troublesome. Eliminate them. Buy a standpipe that fits the drain, cut it few inches shorter than the depth of the livewell. You insert the standpipe and fill the tank. If you have a livewell timer ($30) the pump is then switched to AUTO and it will run for 30 seconds and be off for three minutes. The fish always have a drink of fresh water. When you get to the dock pull the standpipe to drain the livewell.

Thank you.That is exactly what is going on.So,instead of using my wine bottle cork in the drain,I get the stand up pipe for it.It has a weird sized drain hole,I could not find a livewell plug that would fit it.Hense the cork,lol.Is it a pre set up thing?Or do I have to make it up.I have not seen any at the stores,Sportsman's Wharehouse,Bass Pro Shop.I just had some work done on this boat for a stupid thing that me and my buddy did.I am learning about the B>O>A>T>,bring out another thousand,Well,thank you,always my first stop is here.
