i have a 93 cajun with 2 livewells and it has the original basspirator fill/drain/recirculate system 650gph that has 2 cables attached to a valve on bottom of basspirator's that activate the desired function. they do not make these anymore i found out, and i am not understanding how to upgrade pumps and still use the same switches that i have along with the cables, or is this old system just useless with today's pumps? this is really confusing me on what to buy or to do, i hope i have explained what i mean.

thanks for any advice

Re: livewell help ?

Those systems were overkill in my view. To simplify this system, you use a standard livewell pump to feed a spray head or bar in the live well. There are no valves or other fittings in this line. Intake to the pump is through the through-hull fitting below the water line at the stern. The bottom of the tank has a drain that also runs to a through hull fitting below the water line. A standpipe is inserted into the drain to set the water level or a plug can be inserted in the drain. If a plug is used, you install and overflow fitting at the top of the tank and run it to a through hull fitting above the water line. If you don't know how a standpipe works, lift the lid off the toilet tank in your home. The pipe that drains excess water is the same as a standpipe. You can install a timer switch that allows the livewell pump to run for "X" minutes and remain off for "X" minutes. Very simple and trouble-free system.
