livewell ideas anyone??

i need to put a livewell in my boat and im not sure how i want to do it.

any ideas or pics?

I've got a 5 gallon bucket with a top/aerator that I bought for about $12. It will keep a quart of shrimp alive for many hours.

i really need one big enough to keep bass alive in as i might start tournament fishing.

Just use a larger cooler (50-70qt) with an aerator. They make custom add-on livewells, but they're pretty expensive.

this is a post from when I asked the same question awhile back. I have not done it with my boat yet but I still plan to.
I like the one that you drop in the water to pump water into your cooler and then drop it in the cooler to empty it.

One of my boats is a 15 ft Gregor V-hull which I decked in for bass fishing. I made a livewell out of an ice chest and used a bilge pump for an areator pump. Made a spray bar from a 1/2" dia. PVC pipe. I fished tourneys for a number of years and it worked well.

A couple of nice things about using an ice chest is it helps to keep the livewell water cool on hot days. And on days when you're not using it as a live well you can use it as an icechest.

I thought Bass club / contests had certain sizes , BLAH< BLAH< BLAH that the livewell had to have or do to be legal in a contest ??
